In the project participated 37 pupils at the age 16 – 18 years old from 18 secondary schools from Warmia and Mazury Province. When chosing participants we considered their social background and economical status. The goal of the project was preparing young people to be actively present in their local envirnoment, providing them with knowledge indispennsable for effective activity in public life, creating the ability to become a leader in school and local environment. School of Social Activity should served means to activate the young people from Warmia and Mazury Province. The innovation of the project means that the participants after the sesion realised their own projects according to needs in their local environments The first stage of the project cosisted of training sessions (146 hours), which resulted in increase of activities performed by young people for local and school environment as well as their peers. During this part the participants took part in simulations which helped them to develop the abilities to chose priorities and solve problems . The workshops were conducted by activating methods that allowed the participants to experience consequences of their own decisions and actions. The aim of teh workshops in Goldap (during holiday) was to make the participants familiar with the activ local society which is able to solve their own problems. During this time the participants got to know the institutions and organisations which purpose is to work for local society – Local Newspaper, Unemployment Office, Center of Culture, Center of Voluntry Service, Fundation of the Development of Goldap Region, .... Young people used gathered experience to preapare their own newspaper. This showed them how important is the partnership and coraporation when solving local problems. During the second stage from July to October 2003 after the training sesion the participants began realization of their own projects in local societies. Those projects were described in the folder “School of Social Activity.” Projects: Bivouac for children from orphange Preapared by Kinga Bystrzycka and Aleksandra Sawulska from School nr 1 in Dzialdowo In bivouac participated 32 children from orphange in Kowalewo. The ewent took place from 27 to 29 August in Tarczyn. The money and food for bivouac ware given by diffrent organization and institutions from Dzialdowo. Diuring the bivouac there was a sport turnament, the children had also chance of riding horses and swiming in the lake. In the evening the children were dancing and singing over the campfire. The participants were very happy with bivouac and the organaisers were pleased that they had given the kids some joy. Volontures for kids Agnieszka Stroisz and Anna Kuczyńska organised a trip to Mazurska Farm neear Ełk for children from patological families. The kids learnt how to bake bread and milk goat. Social Club It is a project realized by Alicję Makarewicz and Annę Przygocką from Pasłęk. The members of the club plan to help younger children in learning and welfare over older people and helping kids from hospital in Pasłęk. European Club Ewelina Kozłowska and Tomasz Świniarski had established school european club in Pieniężno. They hope that they club will be an important place in they school where young people may met and discuss about their intrests. Children’s Smile Agnieszka Dubińska i Paulina Pączkowska from Braniewo were collecting in their school toys and schoolbooks for kids from poor families Volunteers among us It is a school volunutry club in Iłowo. The project is being realized by A and b . The club consists of 15 members. The club had created a n information point about voluntry service. The members of the club are helping younger kids in learning and are planing a theater performance. Forgotten Valleys Three pupils from secondary school number 6 in Olsztyn had created club for RPG players. There are 8 members of the club. The first session took place on 19 September 2003. During the winter hoolidays the club plans a trip to Krakow. Youth and Leonardo Da Vinci In Iława the pupils prepared an happening during whcih they informed about international relationships and the program “Youth”. The event was adresed to young people in age 15 to 25 years old. The aim of the project was to encourage young people to active participation in social life. Help Natalka The project was realised by Annę Rusiecką and Martę Szwenik from Wydminy. They organised an auction of paintings of artists from Wydminy. The money was spent for medical treatment of little Natalka. Mettings with song and theater Patrycja Cieplik and Magda Michalska organised an artistic event in Nowe Miasto Lubawskie. The first part of the event was a theater workshop. During the second part talented pupils could show their skills.The aim of the project was to show young people how they can spend their free time in an interestig way. Charitable Fete Fete was organaised by Edyta Choińska and Małgorzata Tyska from Nidzica. The purpose of the fete was to colect money for satchels with books and notebooks for poor children from Nidzica. The mayor of Nidzica donated money for satchel with school accesories for another 10 childrern. Musical dinners 1368 zlotych were collectet diuring charitable concert in which participated: organised in Ełk by Anna Kłuć and Barbara Pawlik The money was given to św. Dominik Fundation and well be used to buy dinners for poor children. Summary of the project took part on 26 november 2003 during the seminar „Young – Activ” . The participants of the Scool of social activity shared their experiences from the realisation of the project and precented their achivments. Among the guests of the seminar were a representatives of The United States of America Embassey in Warsaw, educational authorities , media (press, radio, local Tv) and teachers –over 60 people. The participants of the seminar recived folder “School of social activity”. The results Important aim of the project which was achived thanks to intensive training sesion is to prepare 37 young people to sucesful and activ participation in community life.
